Care Instructions and Safety

Care Instructions: One of the best things about Biothane is how easy it is to clean. Often, you can simply rinse off dirt without even using soap.

For regular cleaning: Soak the gear in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and towel dry.

For a deeper clean: Gently scrub with a soft sponge, cloth, or an old toothbrush

For stubborn stains (rare): Use a magic eraser

Safety: Please inspect your gear regularly for signs of wear and tear, and replace as needed. PRÊT-À-PUPPY cannot be held liable for any injuries or damages resulting from improper usage of our products.

Collar Widths

Our collars are available in three widths, 5/8”, 3/4”, and 1”.

5/8” is the smallest width available, 1” is the largest width available.

Please note the size of the hardware and weight of the collar increases with the width, for example, a 5/8” collar is much more lightweight than a 1” collar.

What is Biothane?

Biothane is a waterproof material that looks and feels a lot like leather but offers amazing benefits such as being 100% waterproof, odor-resistant, flexible even in freezing temperatures, soft to the touch, and super easy to clean.

Should I choose the 7 or 8 ft hands free leash?

It depends on your height, how you plan to wear the leash (around your waist or crossbody), and how much freedom you want your dog to have.

Here’s a general guide:

  • Wearing it around your waist uses about 2–3 ft of leash length.
  • Wearing it crossbody typically uses more length, depending on your size

What is a traffic handle?

A traffic handle is an additional handle close to the end of the leash that can be used to keep your dog close to you when needed.

We typically recommend high traffic handles for small dogs, and low traffic handles for larger or taller dogs.

Low: begins around 16” from dog end of leash

High: begins around 22” from dog end of leash
